nap time
This is me asleep. Mom says she loves it when I'm asleep, because then I don't bark. I am doing better about sleeping through the night and not waking her up as often, so she likes that also. One thing I'm not sure about though is that apparently Halloween is coming up, and mom isn't sure if I should dress up as something. If I do, it'll probably just be putting on one of my jerseys and going as a sports fan, but what do you think? Post a reply!
toy retirement
Mom told me to say good-bye to these toys since she says they need to retire. I don't know what retiring is, but these are some of my favorite toys (as you can probably tell since they are so chewed up) so I hope retirement is a good thing for them. Plus, I have the pine cone that mom let me carry 3 blocks home and into the house, so that's my new favorite toy since it's LOTS of fun to chew.

Cone Probation
I was starting to find new and creative ways to express my frustration with the cone, such as regularly shredding the newspaper mom and dad put out for me to go to the bathroom on. Don't worry, I am mostly good at holding in until I am outside, so the newspaper was just lying there, waiting for me to destroy it. Anyways, on Saturday, I got put on cone probation, so as long as I don't bat at my eye too much, mom and dad keep the cone off, which is much better.

Couple updates
My ribbon the vet gave to hold my cone on wore through, so mom replaced it today with this kinda fashionable blue and brown striped ribbon. She thinks it looks really cute tied in a big bow. I mostly don't like that when I scratch, I don't think I can wear it down like the other ribbon. Also, I lost a couple teeth today, but mom said I shouldn't put pictures of them on my blog. Sorry.

I once had a cone ... THIS BIG
This cone is huge. Mom says the width of the cone is the length of my body. Anyway, I hate it. I guess it protects my eye, and I have to have it on for at least one more week, but possibly longer. It makes it hard to pick things up, I run into stuff, and the only good thing is that when I go on walks, I get to take it off. Which reminds me, one of my new favorite things is to run around at the park. Minimal exericse for mom and dad, maximum wearing out for me. Win-win.

Surgery update
The vet said my eye looks fine, but I can get my foot into the cone to scratch my eye, so I need a bigger cone. Since they didn't have one that fit well at this office, mom put a sock on my foot and tomorrow morning she's going to their main office to get me a bigger cone. At first, I treated my foot like it was limp, but once I realized I could put weight on it and the sock was just holding me back, I tried chewing the sock to get it off. I suppose a bigger cone might be better than the sock, but I dunno.

I like walks!
I get sooo excited whenever Mom or Dad get my leash out, because I like walks. The following list includes things I like to pick up in my mouth when I'm on a walk: rolly pollies, dirty napkins, plastic bags on the ground, cigarette butts, grass, and especially pine cones, which are one of my favorite things ever. Almost all of these get me yelled at, and I've gotten better about not picking as much up, but I'm still a sucker for rolly pollies and pinecones, both of which I picked up on my walk this afternoon!
This is a picture of me on a walk before I got the stupid plastic cone put on, which makes it way harder to pick these things up....

Weekend at home
Mom and dad stayed home all weekend to make sure I didn't scratch my eye at all. Dad did a bit of work, which was fine by me, since I got to lie next to him on the couch. And today, family came over, including 2 kids who played with me almost non-stop all day. It was a lot of fun to get so much attention, and I didn't have to bark for any of it, but I was pretty tired by the end. Those kids are exhausting!

Surgery's no fun
I'm still kinda groggy from the anesthesia, but the second surgery went ok. It hurt a lot more than the last time; you know it's never good when the doctor says it will hurt more. Anyways, mom and dad are being super annoying about not letting me get near my eye in any way. They took away my stuffed animal squirrel that I used to rub my eye. And they yell at me anytime I rub the side of my face against the inside of my cone. Hmph. I'll try to post a picture this weekend.
